RESIDENT SERVICES

Mission

The Resident Services Department assists public housing residents and Section 8 clients to become better educated and economically self-sufficient, by creating pride, respect, and stability through job training, job placement; and educational, cultural, and recreational programs

Department Goals

Established in 2007, the Resident Services Department has a list of goals to aid in assisting the residents of the HACSB. Those goals include:

  • Providing educational development, employment training, job placement, and job retention services.

  • Establishment of Resident Councils and Resident Advisory Boards.

  • Encourage and increase community participation.

  • Expand Resident Service Programs in the following
    areas:
    • Children's Programs
    • Elderly Programs
    • Home Ownership

  • Fund Resident Programs by identifying and pursuing alternative funding sources.

  • Establish Inter-Agency agreements with local service providers and use grants and other funding sources to
    support programs.
